Aurora City Council Actions-April 19

Here are actions taken by Aurora City Council at its April 10 meeting:

 

APPROVED

Set the compensation for the mayor from Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023 ($99,975 in 2020, $102,275 in 2021, $104,750 in 2022 and $107,350 in 2023).

Set the compensation for City Council members from Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023 ($11,000 in 2020, $11,300 in 2021, $11,550 in 2022 and $11,800 in 2023).

Contract with Pyrotechnico ($17,500) for the July 4 fireworks display.

Purchase of two 2017 Ford Explorer interceptors from Lebanon Ford ($45,518 after $9,300 trade-in allowance) for the police department.

Contract with inSITE Advisory Group LLC (not over $15,000) for consulting services to develop design standards for the historic overlay district.

Amendment to "employees generally" city ordinances to reflect changes in compensation for part-time seasonal employees, plus city workers Hammett and Vermillion.

Water fund as an additional funding source for the purchase of two Ford F-150 pickup trucks from Park Ford for use by the service department.

Contract with Gledhill Road Machinery Co. ($57,720) for the purchase of a dump truck snow and ice removal package and hydraulic system for an 8-ton cab and chassis.

Payment of $700 each to police Lts. Rob Hagquist and Andrew Lumpkins to compensate them for additional duties incurred during time as acting police chief while Chief Brian Byard was attending the FBI Academy.

 

TO THIRD READING

Tabled for fourth time. Agreement with Hawthorn of Aurora and the Constan Development Co. for dedication to the city for public use of a portion of Aurora Lake Road.

Tabled for second time. Final plat for Homestead Phase 3 Block A on the south side of East Homestead Drive and east of Eggleston Road.

Tabled for second time. Revised development plan of Homestead Phase 3, Block A on the north side of East Homestead Drive and east of Eggleston Road.

Contract with Chagrin Pet, Garden & Power Equipment Supply ($6,438) for a mower.

Contract with Southeastern Equipment Co. for purchase of a mid-size min i-excavator ($72,960 less $10,500 trade-in for a backhoe).

Revised final plat for Hawkin Subdivision on the north side of East Mennonite Road across from Harris Drive.

 

TO SECOND READING

Contract with Brown Enterprise Solutions ($15,486) for the purchase of 20 Dell desktop computers and monitors as part of the city's computer replacement plan.
