Shearer named Record-Courier editor, general manager

Former General Manager Ron Waite, who had previously announced that he had taken a new position in another market, is also leaving the company.

Brad Harmon, president of Central US Publishing Operation, thanked them for “their many years of distinguished service” in a statement to GateHouse employees on Thursday.

While there, he worked to coordinate local enterprise stories using a statewide network of reporters — something readers can expect to see in the future.

He was city editor in Mansfield, then managing editor in Newark where the Advocate placed in five consecutive Ohio Associated Press “General Excellence” awards as one of the best newspapers in the state in its circulation class.
