Police Reports is a sampling of incidents responded to by the Aurora Police Department. It is not intended to be all-inclusive.
Theft: Police reported that a Tallmadge man was charged with theft March 2 after it was discovered he allegedly was taking money from the cash register at his place of employment on South Chillicothe Road. He posted bond and was released.
Domestic dispute: An Aurora man was charged with domestic violence March 6 in the Geauga Lake area after a verbal dispute with his sister became physical. Both subjects received minor inuuries, but neither requested medical attention. The suspect was taken to the Portage County Jail.
Warrest pickup: A Mentor man was transferred from the Lake County sheriff's office to Aurora on a warrant for stalking and telephone harassment. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.
Fraudulent incident: A Goldenrod Dive woman reported that someone unknown made fraudulent charges totaling $514 to her credit card.
Firearm turn-in: A man dropped off a firearm at the police station for destruction.
Sideswipe: No citation was issued Feb. 27 after police said a Rumpke garbage truck sideswiped a stopped Portage County recycling truck on Old Mill Road. No injuries were reported.
Car hits tree: Police said an Aurora female juvenile veered off Parkview Drive on a curve March 4 at 7:45 a.m. and struck a tree. She was cited for not maintaining control, but no injuries were reported.
Rear-end crashes: An Oklahoma man was cited for assured clear distance March 3 after police said he struck a Twinsburg woman's vehicle from behind while turning from Lake Avenue onto North Aurora Road. The woman was stopped behind a mail delivery truck. No injuries were reported.
No citation was issued March 8 at 7:25 a.m. after police said a Salem woman struck a Solon man's vehicle from behind on Route 43. Police said minor damage occurred.
Collision: A Mantua man was cited for failing to control March 3 at 8:10 a.m. after police said he went left of center on Bartlett Road and collided head-on with a Streetsboro man's vehicle. The latter man was taken to University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna for treatment.
