The Aurora One Fund added 2.2 percent to its 2016 campaign total last week, thus reaching 48 percent of its $66,000 goal as of Oct. 15.
Up until that date, 218 cards were returned out of 9,150 mailed. The business drive accounted for $2,850 and the residential drive for $28,831 for a total of $31,681.
The One Fund is managed by a group of dedicated local citizens who are all volunteers. There are no paid executives. The fund has less than a 4 percent administration cost that covers filing fees, postage and printing costs.
Residents can designate which organizations on the pledge card they wish to support. Social service agencies and groups such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts receive support.
