Area residents will have the chance to learn about a wide variety of health services Sept. 13.
The Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with University Hospitals, will present its 9th annual Health Fair from 3-6 p.m. at the UH Streetsboro Health Center, located at 9318 Route 14.
The event will feature a variety of activities for all ages, from health care screenings for adults to fun, educational outdoor activities for children.
“The main focus of the health fair is to create public awareness regarding critical health issues that will improve health and longevity,” said Streetsboro Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Valerie Fiala.
The event is free and open to the public. The health fair will feature three floors of health care professionals and organizations, all looking forward to explaining their services.
On the third floor of UH Streetsboro Health Center, UH will offer a variety of screenings to help identify health issues before they become health problems.
Health care organizations at the event range from chiropractors to park and recreation organizations whose goal is to improve area residents’ health through hiking, biking and other outdoor activities and sports.
Other businesses and organizations at the event are geared toward helping people through the financial and lifestyle changes illness sometimes presents, whether it necessitates a change in residence or requires financial adjustments for the family.
“This is a great opportunity to interface with these exhibitors and ask questions face-to-face about the products or services they provide,” said Fiala.
Outside, children can enjoy a “Touch-a-Truck” area focused on safety and emergency medical vehicles.
Parking will be available at the medical center, and the attendees should use the east entrance to the building, which accesses the lobby areas where the health care organizations and businesses will be located.
