On Aug. 14, Joe and Lynn Pacuitt, proprietors of the Aurora Children’s Early Learning Center, once again allowed the Aurora One Fund to use their facility to stuff 12,000 pledge cards to be mailed out for the 2014-15 campaign.
Approximately 75 Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scout parents and friends of the One Fund assembled to stuff the cards. The group completed the task in less than two hours.
The One Fund drive will start a week early this year. Pledge cards should arrive about Aug. 27. The early start may give local residents more time to help the fund meet its goal of $66,000.
The One Fund is managed by a group of dedicated, public-spirited citizens who are all volunteers. There are no paid executives.
The One Fund has less than a 2 percent administration cost that covers filing fees, postage and printing cost.
