It’s that time of the year again for the USO of Northern Ohio’s 12th annual golf outing and clambake, to be held Sept. 12, at Sweetbriar at Legacy Point in Avon Lake.
This outing is the largest fundraising event for the USO.
For the uninitiated, the USO is a 501(c)3 non-profit civilian organization, which relies solely on the generosity of the American people and patriotic corporate citizens.
Since 1941, the mission of the USO of Northern Ohio has been to enhance the quality of life of military personnel and their families.
If you would like to participate in the outing and clambake, the fees are $80 for current military; veterans, $125; civilian, $150; and to attend the dinner and raffle program, $40.
Various categories are available to sponsors, each with prices starting at $1,000 up to $5,000.
Prizes will be awarded for low hole, long drive, long putt, and players will enjoy beverages, a lunch and much more.
One of its major activities for men and women entering the armed forces, transferring to other airlines, or needing a place to relax between flights, is available at the USO’s Bob Hope Lounge located at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Snacks, newspapers and magazines and beverages are always served by a friendly volunteer staff.
The USO Administrative Office is located at 20637 Emerald Parkway Drive in Cleveland.
Phone: 216-265-3680. The USO’s email address for the golf program is email@example.com.
I remind you to organize a foursome to play in the golf outing. It promises as always to be an event is enjoyable, and one that you will long remember and look forward to each year.
Fees include golf umbrellas, hole sponsorship, dinner and a quarter page recognition in the golf outing program. The higher price sponsorships make other goodies available.
