Aurora -- The city's full-time sports coordinator has resigned.
At a recent Recreation Advisory Committee meeting, Parks-Rec Director Jim Kraus said Scott DeMarco took a job with State Farm Insurance as a property and casualty representative, working in the office of Aurora State Farm agent Greg Rodi.
The sports coordinator manages all aspects of youth and adult sports programs and activities, Kraus explained, and that person reports directly to the parks and recreation director.
"The sports coordinator supervises adult volunteer coaches, sports officials and part-time sports supervisors," Kraus said.
According to city documents in February, DeMarco's annual salary was $44,933. Kraus said the position is listed with a salary range of $33,949 to $70,000, and he added he is filling in as the interim sports coordinator.
Mayor Ann Womer Benjamin said the city has not posted the position yet, but may in the future.
"At this point, we haven't done anything formal about posting the position," she said.
