Aurora Historical Society unveiled a new exhibition “Early Aurora: Before the Pioneers” to members on May 15. The 48-square foot exhibition tells the story of life in the area before  founding families migrated here from New England. Another new museum exhibit features items about Aurora’s education history, including yearbooks, sports trophies and old photos. At the opening of the exhibitions, Portage County historian Guy Pernetti, shown at  left in this photo, spoke about prehistory in Ohio and showed many ancient artifacts. Beside him is historical society secretary Kathlyn Brown.
