At its first meeting of 2014, the Akron Metropolitan Area Transportation Study approved federal funds in the amount of $185,520 for the resurfacing of nearly one mile of East Mennonite Road in Aurora.
Total project cost is estimated at $278,280, with the city having to come up with the remaining $92,760. The funding is available in 2016.
The committee approved 39 total projects worth nearly $29 million. The selection process began in October 2013 when the agency began sifting though more than 133 applications seeking $114 million.
