Aurora — The local schools lost an administrator in 2013 who had been with the district for 16 years.
On June 26, Director of Business Affairs and Transportation Greg Pollock tendered his resignation effective July 31 after accepting an administrative position with the South Euclid-Lyndhurst schools. He became their director of human resources as of Aug. 1.
“My experiences and training have been invaluable, and I feel I’m leaving in good standing, having improved upon the many non-academic services I have overseen the past three years, as well as my years leading Leighton School,” said Pollock. “I wish the district continued success.”
Pollock was replaced by Sal Arquilla, with his title being changed to director of facilities, maintenance and operations. Arquilla previously worked in the district from 2002-10 as transportation director, then worked in the Field district for three years.
Pollock came to Aurora in 1997 and served as Harmon School’s assistant principal until 2001. He was instrumental in establishing the PRIDE program.
He was transitional principal at Leighton in 2000-01 and oversaw construction of the new building, then was principal at Leighton until 2010.
