Twinsburg -- Selling out all available vendor space in its first year, the 3Chamber Women's Expo will provide entertainment, education and networking for women of all walks of life Jan. 30 at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Organized with input from the Twinsburg, Aurora and Solon chambers of commerce, the expo will be from 4 to 7 p.m. and include about 82 vendor booths, representing many firms -- from hospitals and health professionals to restaurants, salons and travel agencies.
Attendees can participate in interactive workshops hosted by Doris Mayer of Mayor Business Group LLC.
Judy Caine, financial adviser with Prosperity NEO and a member of the Twinsburg Chamber board of directors, said the expo stemmed from her Twinsburg Women In Networking initiative.
Caine said the expo is a result of close cooperation between the Twinsburg, Aurora and Solon chambers and a 15-member committee represented by all three chambers.
"I started the Twinsburg Women In Networking group out of the Twinsburg Chamber in January 2013," Caine said. "I had an idea just to have a women's expo. The three directors work so well together. We assembled a committee of about 15 people from the three chambers. It just took off. We're just really excited about the results."
Abby Schroll-Fechter, executive director of the Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce, said the expo is a relaxing and welcoming evening for women of every background. Vendor booths will be largely interactive, offering free sample services and socialization opportunities.
"It's a feel-good day for women, kind of like a girls' night out," Schroll-Fechter said. "We have a bunch of different fun things going on. We have beauty salons that are going to be doing fun make overs and haircuts. We have our cafe of restaurants in the area that will be doing healthy food samples. We have chiropractors that will be doing free massages, we have hospitals that will be doing free screenings.
"It's a very feel-good night for women. It's not just for businesswomen. Whether you're a stay-at-home mom, a teacher, a CEO, it's for every type of woman out there."
Registration to attend is not required. Samples from area restaurants will be available in a cafe area, which will require a cash contribution to enter. All event proceeds will benefit Cleveland's Dress for Success program.
