Three are indicted by grand jury

Stefan H. Schmidt, 26, of Streetsboro was served with a Portage County grand jury indictment Feb. 13 alleging one count each of robbery, a third-degree felony; disrupting public service, a fourth-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; two counts of possession of drugs; and one count of receiving stolen property, all first-degree misdemeanors.

Schmidt allegedly possessed less than $1,000 worth of stolen jewelry, the muscle relaxant carisoprodol, aka Soma, and the painkillers oxycontin and hydrocodone, aka Vicodin, all without a prescription in Streetsboro on Oct. 25, 2012, according to his indictment.

He also allegedly used or threatened force against an employee of Aurora Farms Premium Outlets during an alleged theft on Nov. 5, 2012, and prevented or tried to prevent police from being called, according to the indictment.

Dinah D. Shipman, 48, of Canton was indicted Jan. 24 by a Portage County grand jury on one count each of robbery, a third-degree felony; receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools, both fifth-degree felonies.

She allegedly assaulted an employee at Aurora Farms Premium Outlets while committing a theft of more than $1,000 in merchandise from four outlet stores and possessed a pair of wire cutters used in the commission of a felony on Jan. 16, according to her indictment.

Angela L. Powelson, aka Angela L. Brake, 35, of Canton, was indicted Jan. 24 on one count of complicty to receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony.

Powelson/Brake allegedly possessed more than $1,000 in merchandise reported stolen from Aurora Farms Premium Outlets by Dinah D. Shipman, 48, of Canton on Jan. 18, according to the indictment.
