Aurora school officials refute state's figure of more state aid

Published:

Although estimated figures provided by the state of Ohio indicate the Aurora school district will receive $457,000 more in state aid in 2014, Aurora Treasurer Bill Volosin and Superintendent Russ Bennett said that is not the case.

Volosin said Aurora is expecting to receive about $3.4 million - the same amount it will get in 2013.

"There won't be any increase in fiscal year 2014, he said. "They're showing that we're getting an increase, but we're really not. So we're looking at status quo for next year. We're anticipating no increase, and no decrease either, which is a good thing."
