Aurorans to have chance to voice opinions about possible Bennett rehiring

Published:

The Aurora Board of Education has scheduled a public hearing for Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in Leighton School's media center for local residents to provide input about the possible rehiring of Superintendent Russ Bennett.

He recently announced his intention to retire after 30 years in education in the Aurora schools, but the Board decided in December that it would consider rehiring him for a 40-month period from March 4, 2013 to June 30, 2016.

The public will have the opportunity to tell Board members what they think of the proposal. The Board plans to vote on the possible contract extension at its Feb. 25 meeting.
