Camp Hale Farm - I am a farmer

When: June 24, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: Hale Farm and Village, 2686 Oak Hill Road, Bath

Cost: $40 for members, $50 for non-members

Features: For children ages 7 to 12. Children should being their own lunch and a water bottle, and should dress for the weather. In this camp, children will meet the Hale Farm farmer, care for the farm animals, make butter, use farming equipment and complete morning chores.

Camp Hale Farm - I am a Pioneer

When: July 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: Hale Farm and Village, 2686 Oak Hill Road, Bath

Cost: $40 for members, $50 for non-members

Features: For children ages 7 to 12. Children should being their own lunch and a water bottle, and should dress for the weather. In this camp, children will complete morning chores, gather fresh produce from the gardens, make soap, create and play with pioneer toys and games, and visit a pioneer school house.

Camp Hale Farm - I am a Craftsman

When: July 24, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: Hale Farm and Village, 2686 Oak Hill Road, Bath

Cost: $40 for members, $50 for non-members

Features: For children ages 7 to 12. Children should being their own lunch and a water bottle, and should dress for the weather. In this camp, children will meet the potter, blacksmith, glassblower, broom maker and weaver; design and produce a weaving; explore entrepreneurship and market a product at the General Store.

Camp Hale Farm - Civil War Education Day

When: Aug. 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: Hale Farm and Village, 2686 Oak Hill Road, Bath

Cost: $40 for members, $50 for non-members

Features: For children ages 7 to 12. Children should being their own lunch and a water bottle, and should dress for the weather. In this camp, children will meet the 6th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, tend to the horses, drill with a Civil War soldier, design a uniform and set up a camp.

Hudson Community Education & Recreation-Wilderness Survivor Camp

When: July 28-Aug. 1, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Cost: Fee is $215 ($235 after June 28).

Features: Learn to survive and be more confident in unexpected situations. Campers will learn plant identification, shelter building, and outdoor adventure skills.

Malone University Zoo and Wildlife Camp

When: June 23-27

Where: Malone University, 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton

Cost: $450

Features: High school students entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year will spend a week exploring the beauty and complexity of our natural world! Campers will explore possible career paths in zoo biology, wildlife, and environmental science while developing hands-on skills such as the proper handling of zoo animals, environmental monitoring techniques, and the field identification of the trees, birds, reptiles, and amphibians of Ohio. They will hear about potential careers from zoo and wildlife professionals, explore a diverse array of natural areas in Stark County, learn about life on a university campus, meet new friends, and have fun. Activities include hiking, canoeing, a behind the scenes tour at the Akron Zoo, a night walk, a visit to a local wildlife rehabilitation facility, meetings with zoo and wildlife professionals, and more. The fee includes meals, lodging, a camp T-shirt, and transportation and admission to all camp events. Registration is limited to the first 24 students to sign up.

Ravenna Summer Playground-Environmental

Features: Environmental education activities and events are always a big part of camp and will continue this year with a summer gardening program and presentation on solar energy, wild life, and water conservation.
