Singing Circle scheduled as part of International Women's Day

Published:

A Community Singing Circle and Workshop in the tradition of Kay Gardner, musician and healer, will be presented March 8 by the UU Women in Action as part of a celebration of International Women's Day.

Sacred Singing goes back to ancient times and is found in many cultural traditions. The workshop will be at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron, 3300 Morewood Road in, Akron (across from Summit Mall). Sacred Singing is a spiritual practice, not a form of entertainment for an audience. The practice allows participants to create a bridge to the quiet, contemplative mind and connect with the Divine.

A Community Circle will be free (donations at the door) and open to the public on March 7 from 7 to 8 p.m. with the women only Workshop on Saturday. Both events are presented by Shelly Graff from Cincinnati. Shelly leads Sacred Singing Circle Workshops across the U.S.

Workshop cost is $35. Space is limited; rsvp to uuwakron@gmail.com. For questions, call Linda Hale 330-239-3429.
