Actors' Summit wants stories about 'World's Best Mom'

Published:

Actors' Summit is presenting the Midwest premiere of "Motherhood Out Loud" (April 4 through 21). In conjunction with the show, the theater is inviting people to tell them why their mom is the "World's Best Mom" in 100 words or less. Actors' Summit wants to hear about their mothers, co-parent or their child who is now a mom. Essays can be emailed to Motherhood@actorssummit.org. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. on March 30.

"The play delves into the different stages of motherhood and is a funny and irreverent look at what it means to be a mom," said Neil Thackaberry, co-artistic director of the theater.

Motherhood Out Loud was conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein and features a series of pieces about Motherhood by 14 different writers.

The prize is a basket of treats, including 4 tickets to the opening weekend of the show and the piece read by a professional actor to that night's audience as well as being posted on the theater's website. Members of the artistic staff and several members of the theater company's Board of Directors will choose the two winners. Selected "Motherhood Moments" will also be posted on the theater's Facebook page and website.

Entries should include the author's name and contact information. For details, email motherhood@actorssummit.org.
