Stan Hywet offers free admission to veterans Nov. 11

n Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is offering free admission to all veterans and military personnel who present their military ID and who visit on Veterans Day.

Admission includes a self-guided tour of the 65-room Manor House, the Gate Lodge and Corbin Conservatory as well as access to the landscaped gardens and grounds. Accompanying family members pay regular prices. Stan Hywet is at 714 North Portage Path in Akron.

Admission for self-guided Manor House tours (includes gardens and grounds, Gate Lodge and Conservatory) is $14 adult; $6, student, ages 6-17. Children ages 5 and under, and members are free.

Doll and train exhibit to benefit Case-Barlow Farm

n The third annual Doll House Exhibition and Toy Train Display, which will benefit Case-Barlow Farm, will return with all new miniature houses, room boxes and toy trains.

The displays will be open Nov. 23, 24, and 25, and Dec. 2, 9, and 16 from 1 to 4 at the historic farm, at 1931 Barlow Road in Hudson. Admission at the door is $20 for adults and $5 for children. Some items will be available for purchase.

A limited number of advance tickets will be sold for a special preview party on Nov. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. The preview party will include appetizers and desserts, along with a glass of wine. Reservations are required and can be made by phoning 216-956-0848 or emailing to casebarlow@aol.com.

From Nov. 23 to Dec. 15, the exhibit may be reserved for private and group parties upon request. Contact CBF for details.
