Four students from Aurora graduated May 21 from John Carroll University. The students and their majors are: Austin Kasunic, East Asian studies; Timothy Maxwell, communication and theater arts; Klair Ruggiero, biology; and Mackenzie Stojetz, education.
The following John Carroll students from Aurora were named to the dean's list for the 2017 spring semester for achieving at least a 3.5 grade-point average: Devin Bradley, Dalton Browsky, Michelle Cheselka, Sammi DiGeronimo, Ethan Ekstrand, Dean Hayden, Colleen Houlahan, Taylor McVay, Natalie Sharrotta, Cheryl Spice and Megan Stechler. Ekstrand has made the list the last six semesters.

Pramita Kothakoda of Aurora graduated from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine on June 1. It was the Caribbean school's 13th graduating class.
The ceremony was at Prudential Hall Theater at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center Newark. Kothakoda will serve a residency in family medicine with Mount Carmel Health Systems in the Columbus area.

Several Aurora residents have received diplomas from the University of Mount Union in Alliance. Included are: Connor Brandon, bachelor of science degree in information systems; Tyler Flynn, BS degree in computer science; Joshua Marchese, BS degree in mechanical engineering; Tracy Asplin (cum laude), bachelor of arts degree in early childhood education; and Patrick Vogel, BA degree in management. More than 487 graduate and undergraduate students participated in the University of Mount Union's 171st commencement ceremony.
The following Aurora students have been named to the dean's list for the spring 2017 semester at the University of Mount Union in Alliance: Mitchell Evans, Emily Keller, Brian Kingure, Samuel Krzysiak and Rachel Markle. To be eligible for the list, students must have completed at least 12 credit hours of traditionally graded coursework while achieving a grade-point average of 3.55 or better with no letter grade below a B.

Kendall Hughes of Aurora graduated from Bucknell University on May 21. Located in Lewisburg, Pa., Bucknell boasts 3,600 undergraduates. Hughes also was named to the dean's list for the fall 2016 semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
A student must earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average to be considered for the honor.
