Here's what's coming up at Kent State's Homecoming this weekend

As Kent State University’s Homecoming on Saturday approaches, there is much to look forward to.

Festivities will take place beginning at 9 a.m. with the traditional continental breakfast, taking place at the Alumni Hospitality Tent.

It is important to note the tent’s location has changed this year. KSU’s Alumni Association has moved from the Williamson Alumni Center, on the corner of Midway and Main Street, to its new location at 350 S. Lincoln St. in December.

Because of this, the tent will be relocated to Front Campus at the Rock, on Main Street. The continental breakfast is geared towards alumni, but anyone is welcome to attend.

Following the breakfast, the Homecoming Parade will start at 10 a.m. Former Cleveland Browns star Josh Cribbs will serve as grand marshal of the parade. Cribbs attended KSU and played on the Golden Flashes football team from 2001 to 2004.

According to Rebecca Kapler, assistant director of the Center for Student Involvement, there are a total of 96 entries in this year’s parade. The parade will start on campus at Midway and Theatre drives, head to Main Street and enter downtown Kent where it will end on Franklin Avenue. The parade is expected to last about an hour.
