Frosh fittings planned
The Aurora Orchestra Association requests that all freshmen orchestra students (girls and boys) stop by the orchestra room Aug. 12 to be fitted for their formal wear. It is the same day they will pick their high school class schedules.
AOA board members will be at the school from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Freshmen should be prepared to change into the formal wear. All upper classmen can come in if they feel their formal wear needs to be refitted. For details, call Toni at 216 570-9484.
First days coming up
The first day of preschool at Miller School for the 2014-15 academic year is Aug. 26. The first day for all other students is Aug. 21. New student orientation is Aug. 20 and the opening staff meeting is Aug. 19.
Grid T-shirts on sale
T-shirts are now available to purchase for the Aurora Greenmen vs. Twinsburg Tigers "2014 Bragging Rights" football game Aug. 29. The shirts come in green for Aurora and blue for Twinsburg. Cost is $10.
The shirts will be on sale Aug. 11 during the mandatory OHSAA fall sports parents meeting, and when school begins they will be available in the athletic office at the high before school and through student council.

Schedules pickup set
Harmon and Aurora High School student class schedules for the 2014-15 school year will be available for pick up Aug. 12.
They can be picked up in the Aurora High School cafeteria from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Student parking permits also will be on sale during schedule pick up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Supplies sale extended
The deadline for ordering school supplies in the Aurora schools' PTO's sale has been extended until Aug. 11.Online ordering is available and orders can be customized. Fo details and contact information, visit the schools website at www.aurora-schools.org.
IDEA is focus of forum
The Aurora schools' special services department has scheduled a parents communication forum for Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. in Leighton School's media center. The topic will focus on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Dr. Kathy Mrsnik will be the presenter.
