Aurora guidelines told for delay whenweather is bad

The following items are taken from the News from Miller and Craddock Schools newsletter.

Instead of a snow day, the school district's superintendent may declare a two-hour delay in the event of cold and/or severe winter weather.

In such a case, there is no morning kindergarten or preschool. Classes will begin at 10:55 a.m. at Craddock and 11:05 a.m. at Miller. Dismissal will be at the regular time. Afternoon kindergarten and preschool will attend at their regular times.

PTO Market Day orders are due by Jan. 31, with pickup on Feb. 5 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in Leighton School's cafeteria. For information about Market Day, call Vanessa Fabec at 440-655-0538 or Vanessa19@windstream.net.

Countdown to Kindergarten will take place Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at Miller School. Information can be found on the school district's website at www.aurora-schools.org.

Parents are reminded that they can drop off children from 8:30 a.m. until the start of classes at 8:55 a.m. Students go into the building from the lobby at 8:45.

Craddock School students raised $5,935 for the 2013-14 Jump Rope for Heart and/or Hoops for Heart programs that will help the fight against heart disease and stroke. Gretchen Jessel organized the Hoops for Heart program.

Thanks go to Miller School's Sunshine committee for preparing an Italian lunch, to Jessel and Craddock's paraprofessionals for their ideas for exercising during indoor recess and to families who read with students every night.
