The following items are reprinted from the March edition of the Aurora High School Communicator newsletter.
The Spring Fling dance for Aurora High School students will be March 16 from 7:30 to 11 p.m. in the varsity gymnasium. Tickets will be on sale March 11 to 15 at $10 each. All proceeds support the after-prom event. Dress is semi-casual, and no jeans or tennis shoes will be allowed.
The 12 seniors who will get Outstanding Greenmen Awards have been announced, as well as the educators who they indicated made a strong impact on them.
The seniors are Justin Bunka, Rachael Davis, Kelly Fussner, DeAnna Fyffe, Matt Gardener, Shawn Lambert, Thuy Le, Erin McNamara, Mitchell Moravec, Zoe Nietert, Lindsay Pizzuro and Michaela Ritz.
The educators they cited who made a strong impact on them are Alicia Jimenez, John Eacott, Laura Bell-Peters, David Munson, Sean Berrodin, Chris Radtke, Toni Taylor, Sarah Dixon, DeAnna McCarrell, Conni Hilston, Bob Mihalik and Melissa Lindley.
The third quarter grading period ends April 5. The school is at the midpoint of next year's scheduling process. Officials will start building next year's master schedule toward the end of March or early April.
Senior internships applications are due March 21. The internship period begins May 1 and ends with the symposium scheduled for 7 p.m. May 22.
Graduation announcements will be distributed during lunch periods March 14. Anyone absent that day can pick up their announcements in Gayle Lewis' Room 105. Extra announcements can be purchased for $1.50 each from Lewis beginning March 15.
The senior breakfast will be May 21. Everyone attending must have a ticket. The date that tickets go on sale and the cost will be announced later.
Caps and gowns, along with photo information and five commencement tickets will be distributed at the senior breakfast. All fees and obligations must be paid before seniors can receive their caps and gowns and tickets.
Seniors can get up to two extra commencement tickets starting May 22 at 10:30 a.m. in the varsity gym. Only graduates can pick up extra tickets.
