The Elementary PTO's "Wild About Giving" tree project is under way, as Miller and Craddock schools have teamed up with Family and Community Services of Portage County.

Students who turned in permission slips by Nov. 5 will select a gift tag next week. Unwrapped gifts should be returned to the respective school between Nov. 26 and Dec. 5.

Leftover Halloween candy is being collected, as it has been for the past 17 years. Candy is donated to Ronald McDonald House, Harvest for Hunger, Volunteers of America and other agencies.

Thanks go to Nikki Thieding at Craddock and Kristen Joy at Miller for help during the fall festival parties, room parents for planning the parties, Susan Mansell for orienting Craddock's AuroraReads! volunteers and the PTO camera crew for capturing the parties on film.

Other coming events are: Nov. 13-14 -- Craddock dads and doughnuts; Nov. 20 -- Miller dads and doughnuts; Nov. 21-23 -- no school because of Thanksgiving break; and Nov. 27 -- Miller and Craddock picture retake/makeup day.
