Events slated at AHS include autumn play

The following information is reprinted from the Aurora High School Communicator newsletter.

Deadlines are approaching for certain activities relating to the senior class.

The Josten's representative will visit the school Nov. 8 and 15 during all lunch periods to take cap and gown orders. Payments are not required at that time. The price increases in December.

Senior photos and baby photos are due Dec. 12. Senior photos should be given to Kathy Wiemken in Room 100 and baby pictures from birth to 3 years old to Gayle Lewis in Room 105. Photos also can be emailed to glewis@aurora-schools.org.

Parent-teacher conferences will be Nov. 8 and 13 with 10-minute appointments from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. and drop-in sessions from 8 to 8:30.

Parents can talk over their child's progress with teachers. Lindsey Draime, Sarah Dixon and Jason Burdette will be available only on Nov. 13. Appointments can be made on the high school website.

AHS Players will present "The Curious Savage" on Nov. 16-17 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $5 for students, and are available at the door.

The cast includes Santino Palma, Lauren Bowen, Robert Pigza, Nick Hradisky, Clare Rahill, Grace Klinger, Laura Giesler, Kyle Messner, Heather Gosnell, Alex DePompei and Lexi Clossin.

Principal Mike Roberto reports that AHS was the third highest rated high school in Northeast Ohio on the state report card (112.1 performance index) behind Solon (113.1) and Hudson (112.2).

Roberto also acknowledged AHS golf team's eighth-place finish at the state tournament, Andrew Hinton's seventh best score as an individual golfer, the football team's eighth straight year in the playoffs and outstanding efforts by the boys and girls soccer teams.
