Cupcake contest

planned at library

As part of Aurora Memorial Library's summer programs for teens and tweens, the library will host a "Build a Better Cupcake" contest on June 5 at 1:30 p.m. Anyone interested in participating is asked to bring 12 to 15 cupcakes of their own unique recipe (or an existing, altered recipe).

Bakers are asked to give their cupcakes a name, and bring a copy of the recipe they used. The cupcakes will be taste tested by everyone, and a panel of library judges, including Shannon Keibler, the owner of The Floured Apron baking business, will select the best looking, the best tasting and the most unique cupcake. P rizes will be awarded to the winning bakers.

Following the taste testing, Keibler will give a short talk about how she started and runs her bakery business, which involves selling her unique baked goods from a vintage camper named "Rosie."
