CCC activities to start

Wednesday night activities start Sept. 10 at Christ Community Chapel-Aurora, including a family dinner at 6 p.m. Also, a new service called Core, which is tailored for middle school students, will begin Sept. 7 at 11 a.m.

Women's Bible studies will begin Sept. 9 from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. and Sept. 11 from 7 to 9 p.m. Both sessions will study "Becoming a Woman of Prayer" by Cynthia Heald.

Encore Ladies begins a new season at the Hudson campus on Sept. 10 at 1 p.m., with Helga Gross' insight on patience during trying time. It is for women 50 and older. For details, call 330-650-9533.

Baptist eyes officials

The elder team at First Baptist Church in Aurora is accepting nominations for elders, deacons and trustees. Nomination forms are available in the literature rack in the foyer. Contact the Rev. Drew Carroll for information.

Bible study takes place Sundays at 9:15 a.m., and plans are being considered to add an adult class with additional teachers. Help and participation are welcome.

First Focus prayer meetings are Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. The "After the Heart of God" worship series begins Sept. 7. It focuses on the life of King David.

History course slated

A 10-week course about Catholic Church history will begin Sept. 9 and run until Nov. 11 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Tuesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. Marianne Ivany is the facilitator. Contact Mac Clapp for information.

Parents / guardians of students anticipating First Communion or Confirmation must attend one of two orientation sessions -- either Sept. 7 at 12:30 p.m. in the church or Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. in the hall.

High school ministry will meet Sept. 21 following the Knights of Columbus pancake breakfast. Information is available from Kate Fraser at the church phone number and ext. 227.

A busy night at Hope

Wednesday nights will be a bustling time at Hope Community Church in Hudson. There will be something for everyone starting tonight (Sept. 3) from 6:30 to 8:30.

AWANA includes fun activities and Bible challenges for age 2 to sixth-graders. Registration is possible at www.HopeCMA.com/AWANA.

Also tonight there will be gatherings for junior and senior high school students, with magician John Hinton performing. There also are adult Bible studies for men and women, with nursery care available.

LOL starts new series

Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bainbridge will begin a new worship series Sept. 7. It is titled "Becoming Spiritually Fit: A Core Workout for Christians." It will continue through September and October.

Sept. 7 is Launch Sunday, and the church hopes to attain 100 percent attendance. Core workout services will be at 8:15, 9:31 and 10:45 a.m. Overflow parking is available in the south overflow lot adjacent to Route 306 in front of the Teen Life Center.

School supplies eyed

Aurora Mennonite Church is looking for items to fill 150 school kit bags shown recently by Donna Mayes. The church needs 250 notebooks, 50 rulers, 50 erasers, 75 colored pencils and regular pencils. A list of other items needed is on the bulletin board in fellowship hall or the mission tables in the lower area.

Pastor Jim Sutton will meet Sept. 7 after the service with men who may be interested in a six- to eighth-week book study and leadership training class. Anyone interested, but who can't make the meeting should contact him.

Other coming events are: tonight (Sept. 3) -- youth group at 6 p.m. and young adult group at 7; Sept. 7 -- family Sunday; Sept. 9 -- board meeting; Sept. 11 -- MWSO; and Sept. 12 -- senior fellowship to Hartville.

Life groups to launch

The fall launch of New Life Assembly's life groups will be Sept. 7. The Encounter group will meet Sept. 14 at 6 p.m.
