First Baptist will meet

First Baptist Church's quarterly business meeting will be June 29 after the worship service. The budget for the second half of the year will be considered. The Lord's Table will be observed during worship.

A missions team from Florence, S.C. will stay at First Baptist from July 12-19. It primarily will serve First Baptist's sister church -- Crestview Baptist in Stow.

Flag football signups are under way for age 4 to sixth grade. Cost is $75 and practices begin the week of July 28. Forms are available in the church foyer or on its website at www.fbcaurora.org Volunteers also are needed to referee, prepare the field and sell concessions. See Pastor Drew Carroll or Jeff H. if interested.

My First School registrations are continuing this summer for the 2014-15 school year. Children from 18 months to prekindergarten are welcome. Call 330-562-8070 for a free tour and information.

My First School's summer program meets Tuesdays to Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. First Focus prayer meetings are Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

VBS coming at Valley

Vacation Bible school at Valley Presbyterian Church runs July 14-18 from 9 a.m. to noon for age 3 to fourth-graders. Volunteers are needed (adults and youths at least in fifth grade). For details, contact director Heidi Cregar.

The Valley softball team will play Holy Angels on June 29 at 4 p.m. on Field 3. The men's prayer breakfast will be June 26 at 7 a.m. in the fellowship hall. S. Russell' AA group will meet June 27 at 7 p.m. in the church.

OLPH's golf outing set

Our Lady of Perpetual Help's Knights of Columbus annual "Funds for Needy Families" golf outing will be Sept. 12 at Raccoon Hills Golf Club in Franklin township. Men and women golfers are welcome.

Recently welcomed as members of the church are Jennifer and Tim Dudash family, Gloriana and Eric Huth family, Nicholas and Sarah McEnhill family, Jordan and Rossitza Renna family, Ken and Alexis Roy family and Justin and Amanda Schrantz family.

Parkside stays active

Activities coming up at Parkside Church on Pettibone Road in Bainbridge Township are: June 25 -- Standpoint at 6:30 p.m. in the commons; June 26 -- SI cookout at 7 p.m. at Solon Park; June 28 -- canoe trip from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Camp Hi in Hiram.

June 29 -- Faithful Friends celebration from 9:15 to 11 a.m. in the commons and on patio, U-Turn and Student Body at 9:45 a.m., Standpoint at 11 a.m., World Changers at 11:15 and KIds of the Kingdom at 6 p.m.; June 30 -- men's summer study at 78 p.m. in Room 202.

Sports camp planned

New Life Assembly Church in the Geauga Lake area will offer Mega Sports Camp July 28-Aug. 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Sports Include football, cheerleading and basketball. Cost is $5 if registered by July 13. After July 13, the cost is $10. per student. Onsite registration is available.

Rummage sale at LOL

Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bainbridge has scheduled its annual rummage sale July 10-12. It will run July 10 from noon to 5 p.m., July 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 12 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Proceeds from the sale support the high school youth group for the 2015 National Youth Gathering in Detroit. "The rummage sale helps support us financially so we are able to travel to Detroit and experience what it is like to worship the Risen Lord with 35,000 other Lutheran youth at the National Youth Gathering," said Associate Pastor Jon Weaver.

UM men will sell food

The Aurora United Methodist men's group will sell food to raise funds for missions and ministry at the city's July 4 after-parade festivities.

Vacation Bible school runs July 14-18 from 5:45 to 8 p.m., with the theme "The Worshop of Wonders." Registration is possible online at http://2014.cokesburyvbs.com/AuroraUMC_Ohio.
