'Grace' series begins
A new "Rooted in Grace" sermon series is under way at First Baptist in Aurora. The series will take members through the book of Ephesians.
A church business meeting will be March 30 at noon. The church plans to vote on a proposed family ministry pastor position, a new member for the preschool board and other issues.
A one-day missions trip to Central Community Church in Akron is planned April 5 to help with building needs. Participants can sign up on a connection card.
An Easter missions offering has begun, with portions of the donations going to Central Community Church, the Summit Association, the state convention, missions in North America and international missions.
Moms group to meet
Moms Together at Christ Community Chapel in Aurora will meet March 20 at 9:15 a.m. to hear Barbara Hibschman talk about trusting God and obeying His word during life's challenges. Child care is free when registering at www.aurora.ccchapel.com/events.
An Easter egg hunt will be April 19 at 1 p.m. at the church on North Chillicothe Road. Baby dedication will be May 11 for infants under 2 years old.

Two get Cross award
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church members Clare Rahill and Alfred Beckstrom recently were awarded the Eagle of the Cross, which is given to persons who distinguish themselves as Catholic-Christian leaders among their peers.
Penance services around Portage County will be as follows: April 3 at St. Joseph Church in Randolph, April 7 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and April 8 at Kent State's Newman Chapel. All are at 7 p.m.
Soup suppers continue Wednesdays at OLPH through April 2. They start at 6 p.m. and are followed by 10-minute witnesses at 7. The "Make Us Believers" passion play will be April 6 at 4 p.m. Rehearsals continue Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

Flood bucket dropoff
Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bainbridge Township has been designated by Lutheran Disaster Response as a dropoff site for the collection of flood buckets going to a distribution center in southern Ohio.
Buckets and supplies are designed to be startup kits for helping in flooded areas, and each bucket has everything needed to begin the cleanup.

Order Easter flowers
Easter flower orders to honor or remember a loved one are due by March 30 at Aurora United Methodist Church. An order form was printed in a recent bulletin. The forms and payment can be placed in the offering plate or dropped off in the church office.

Hope celebrates Lent
Sunday Lenten services at Hope Lutheran Church continue through April 6, with wor- ship at 5 p.m. and a light meal at 5:30.
Men's Bible study meets the first and third Saturday mornings in fellowship hall. Adult Bible studies are offered Sundays at 9 a.m.
Lent supper at Valley
A Lenten soup supper and service will be tonight (March 19) at 6 at Valley Presbyterian Church in Bainbridge.
The men's prayer group will meet March 20 at 7 a.m., the bell and adult choirs will practice March in the evening and an AA meeting will be March 21 at 8 p.m.
