Holiday food needed
Filled baskets with Thanksgiving meals for needy area residents must be dropped off at Christ Community Chapel in Aurora by Nov. 24. Church volunteers will deliver the baskets.
Residents 55 and older are invited to an old-fashioned hymn sing at a Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 21 hosted by the church's Encore senior ministry. Appetizers will be served at 4:45 p.m. in the atrium and dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. in fellowship hall. Cost is $5 per person and reservations are limited. Moms Together will gather Nov. 21 at 9:15 a.m. in the fellowship hall to hear Jennifer Morocco talking about "Bringing Them to His Feet." Child care is free to those who preregister online at www.aurora.ccchapel.com/momstogether.
New "Daily Bread" devotionals are available in the welcome center. The women's Christmas gathering will be Dec. 7 with guest speaker Katie Potesta. Doors open at 3:15 p.m.
The church's Christmas concerts will be Dec. 12-13 at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 14 at 3 and 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 3 and 6 p.m. Tickets go on sale Nov. 23 at www.aurora.ccchapel.com/events or by calling the church office.
Membership class set
Anyone interested in joining First Baptist Church can attend a membership class Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. Contact the Rev. Drew Carroll for a membership book.
The "Kaleo" adult life group meets Sundays at 9 a.m., a fall "Something More" life group meets Sunday evenings and First Focus prayer meetings are Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.

Middlers to have fun
Our Lady of Perpetual Help's Middlers youths will visit Fun-N-Stuff in Macedonia on Nov. 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $13, and permission slips are needed. Parents can sign up to provide transportation at email@example.com.
Remaining classes of the adult education study titled "Fifty Shades of Catechism, Part Two" will be Wednesday nights through Dec. 11, but not on Thanksgiving Eve. For details, call facilitator Karen Yash at 330-289-8966. All over age 18 are welcome.
Altar server training will take place Dec. 2, 8-9 and 15 at 7 p.m. Participants should attend one class from each of two sessions. Parents should accompany their child.

Christmas Giving Trees will be up with tags the weekend of Nov. 23-24. Gifts must be returned by Dec. 8. The suggested limit for gifts is $30.
A collection of nonperishable food and paper and soap products will be taken on Thanksgiving Day and the weekend after. Items will be taken to the altar during presentation of gifts.

Holiday practices set
Practices are coming up for the children's Christmas presentation at New Life Assembly in the Geauga Lake area. The presentation will be Dec. 15 at 10:30 a.m.

Eve service set at LOL

School kits assembled
Aurora Mennonite seniors assembled 682 school kits during a recent work day at Mennonite Central Committee and the youth group put together 156 school kits at the church.
Rod Truman will bring the message at the Nov. 24 worship service. His topic is "How God changed me from a game winner to a soul winner."
The church will set up a Christmas tree in fellowship hall with names of area seniors. Members are encouraged to select a name tag, purchase what is on the wish list and return it under the tree. There is no need to wrap the gift. Contact Annette Balis for information.

Poinsettia orders due
Church in Aurora members can place Christmas poinsettia orders through Dec. 1. Cost is $9 per plant. Order forms are in the church bulletins or available from a deacon.
Members can sign up to provide altar flowers and coffee hour treats for 2014 on the bulletin board in fellowship hall. Members will decorate the church for the holidays on Nov. 24 at 12:15 p.m. A light lunch will be served afterward.
Annual reports are due in the church office by Dec. 16. They can be emailed to email@example.com.
The Caring Tree will be up in fellowship hall as of Nov. 24. When taking a card from the tree, register it with the missions committee at the table nearby.
Greens hung at AUM
Members of Aurora United Methodist Church on North Aurora Road will hang the greens for the holidays Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. Meanwhiule, the November sermon series is titled "Ordinary Saints: Ordinary Lives -- Extraordinary Mission."
