Aurora -- Vinegar and olive oil have become a huge part of resident Jen Smith's life since she opened Buckeye Blends in June.

Although the new business does not have a brick and mortar location, Smith said she and her husband Colin have opened stands at many farmers' markets and other events in Northeast Ohio and as far away as Columbus.

"I'm a stay-at-home mom, and this has just been a passion for me," she said.°

"This" is a business selling imported baslamic vinegar mixes and different flavored olive oil infusions.

The baslamic vinegar is imported from Mogena, Italy, and the extra virgin olive oil she sells comes from California.

"I really feel we have the best ingredients," she said. "Our extra virgin olive oils are harvested and bottled within two days. You really taste the flavor of our olive oils."

Smith said she also sells mixes of olive oil and balsamic vinegar that can be used as a dip for bread.°

She said the fledgling business has a few brick and mortar rivals in the area, but Buckeye Blends offers shipping within 50 miles of Aurora.

Buckeye Blends will be at Aurora Farms Premium Outlets on Black Friday weekend.

Those who are interested can become fans of the business on Facebook to keep track of where the couple is opening stands. In the past, they've been at Legacy Village, University Circle, Kamm's Corners and several wine festivals in the region.
