Lowe's to host events
Lowe's Greenhouse on Route 306 in Bainbridge Township will host a business fair Feb. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. The public can attend and learn about local businesses. Food, beverages and live music will be available and door prizes will be given.
On Feb. 23, Lowe's will host an informative afternoon from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. of women's health and wellness. Local vendors will have displays, demonstrations and give short lectures about their field of expertise.
Healthy snacks will be available and raffle prizes will be provided by the participating vendors. The event is free. For more information, call Lowe's at 440-543-5123.
Dow Jones over 14,000
The Dow Jones industrial average closed above 14,000 on Feb. 1 for the first time in more than five years.
It was just a number on a board, but it was enough to raise the hopes of some investors and cause others concern about an oberheated market.
The Dow Jones industrial average, a stock market index that is traditionally considered a benchmark for how the entire market is faring, has been rising fairly steadily. As of Feb. 1 it was just 155 points from its all-time record close.
