Aurora Police Reports-Sept. 21

Thefts: A Brooklyn, Ohio, woman was charged with theft Sept. 10 after being found with earrings valued at $30 which were missing from a local store. She was released on bond.

A Linwood Lane woman reported Sept. 13 that someone used her credit card to purchase $5,506 of unauthorized merchandise and airline tickets.

Police were informed Sept. 12 that a microwave unit valued at $367 was taken from a house under construction on Samantha Drive. It was not known if the housed was locked.

A Page Road woman reported Sept. 11 that her locked vehicle had its side window broken and front window damaged. Her purse containing $140 in cash, her driver's license and credit cards were missing. She was advised to contact her bank to cancel her credit cards.

Harassment: An Aurora woman reported Sept. 9 that she and her babysitter were harassed by her ex-husband. She was instructed to call police if the harassment continues.

Warrant transfers: Aurora police picked up a Cleveland man Sept. 9 from Bedford police custody on a warrant for receiving stolen property. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.

An Aurora officer picked up a Texas woman Sept. 10 from Stow police custody on a warrant for having no operator's license and expired plates. She was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Clippings abandoned: While on patrol Sept. 9, an officer found trash bags along the road containing lawn clippings. The service department was notified and disposed of the bags.

Ring missing: A Club Drive woman reported Sept. 9 that her wedding ring was missing. It was valued at $4,830.

Vehicle damaged: A Bedford Heights woman reported Sept. 11 finding damage to her vehicle parked in a lot on South Chillicothe Road. Police said she was recently out of town and the damage could have occurred elsewhere.

Domestic disputes: A Geauga Lake area woman was charged Sept. 11 with domestic violence after police said she verbally threatened her adult daughter. No physical contact was reported. She was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Officers checked out another report of a domestic dispute Sept. 13 on East Garfield Road. Police said it was a loud verbal argument between a woman and her daughter. No charges were filed.

Wallet found: A person turned in a wallet he found Sept. 8 on West Garfield Road. Contact was made with the owner, and police kept the wallet until it was claimed.

Failure to yield: An Aurora woman was cited for failing to yield Sept. 14 at 2:30 p.m. after police said she pulled out of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church parking lot and struck a Parma woman's vehicle. No injuries were reported.
