Aurora Police Reports-Aug. 24

Fraudulent incidents: A Winchester Circle woman reported Aug. 13 that someone used her checking account to purchase unauthorized merchandise online and one item was delivered to her home. The bank was notified. No value of the purchases was given.

A Robinhood Drive man reported Aug. 15 that his identity was stolen and used to obtain credit cards. The card companies were notified and a report filed.

Counterfeit bill: Wildwater Kingdom reported Aug. 10 that a suspected counterfeit $5 bill was used for a purchase at a food stand.

Warrant transfer: During a traffic stop on South Chillicothe Road on Aug. 12 , a Euclid woman was found to be wanted on a warrant from Euclid for failing to appear in court. She was transferred to Euclid police custody.

Theft: An Aurora resident reported theft of four rings Aug. 15 . No value was given.

TRAFFIC-RELATED CASES

Suspended license: An Independence man was cited for driving under suspension Aug. 10. Police said he was stopped at California Street and Orchard Avenue for trucking through a restricted area and not displaying a license plate. He also was wanted on two failing to appear in court warrants from Stow and Walton Hills police departments. He was transferred to Glenwillow police, who released him to Walton Hills police.

Driving without license: A Richmond Heights man was cited for driving without a license Aug. 15 on North Aurora Road after being stopped for having no rear license plate illumination. The driver's mother, who was a passenger, also was cited for wrongful entrustment because police said she admitted she knew he did not have a valid license.

Failure to yield: An Aurora woman was cited for failing to yield Aug. 12 after police said she pulled out onto North Aurora Road and struck a Munson Township man's vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Illegal backing: An Illinois man was cited for illegal backing Aug. 11 on South Chillicothe Road. Police said he backed up to allow a vehicle turning onto Aurora Industrial Parkway to pass, but struck an Aurora man's vehicle which was behind him. No injuries were reported.

Lane change violation: An Aurora man was cited for not driving in marked lanes Aug. 14 on North Aurora Road. Police said he made a left turn onto North Bissell Road and struck a Garrettsville woman's vehicle which was stopped at the traffic light. The woman was taken to the Cleveland Clinic-Twinsburg for treatment. No injuries were reported to the man.
