Theft: Three Akron women were charged with felony receiving stolen property, possessing criminal tools and obstructing official business Aug. 21 in connection with missing items from retail businesses on South Chillicothe Road. Two of them additionally were charged with criminal trespassing. The value of items taken was $1,651. They were taken to the Portage County Jail.

Warrant arrests: A Garfield Heights man was picked up Aug. 22 on a warrant for criminal damaging and theft. He was taken to the Portage County Jail. Meanwhile, a Lodi man was transferred from Geauga County to Aurora's custody on Aug. 27 for a warrant for failure to appear in court.

Domestic violence: An Aurora woman was charged with domestic violence Aug. 23 after police said she physically attacked her sister. She was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Vandalism: A person reported Aug. 22 finding graffitti on several small building on North Aurora Road. A traffic sign in the area also was vandalized. No value of the damage was given.

Vehicle damage: Persons reported Aug. 24 that upon returning to theirs car in a parking lot on West Garfield Road, they found it had been "keyed." No damage estimate was given.

Credit card fraud: A person reported Aug. 24 that someone unknown used his credit card to make two unauthorized charges. No value of the charges was given.

Dispute: A person reported Aug. 26 that a "panhandler" was arguing with a motorist on North Chillicothe Road. An officer contacted the panhandler, a Ravenna woman, and discovered there were warrants out for her arrest from three jurisdictions. She was arrested and transferred to custody of the Macedonia police.

DUI citation: After stopping a Mantua man for speeding Aug. 23 at Route 43 and Treat Road, the man failed field sobriety tests and was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence. He was later released on bond.
