Domestic violence: An near west side of Aurora man was charged with domestic violence July 12 after making threats toward his girlfriend. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Fraud: A South Park Drive woman reported July 12 that someone unknown accessed her credit card account and made unauthorized charges totaling $2,700.

Fireworks: An East Boulevard resident reported July 11 hearing fireworks. Officers were unable to locate the culprits.

Turfed lawn: A River Glen Drive man reported July 11 his yard was turfed. No value of the damage was given.

Mailbox ditched: An Eggleston Road woman reported July 11 she found her mailbox damaged and tossed into a ditch. No value of the loss was given.

Noise complaints: A Greenbriar Drive resident reported July 11 loud music was playing nearby at 10:42 p.m. An officer visited the offending house and was told the volume would be turned down. Loud music also was reported July 9 at 9:30 p.m. at Sunny Lake Park. An officer responded and a party was just breaking up for the night. On July 14, a loud party was reported at 11 p.m. on Moneta Avenue. The culprits told police they would go inside.

Suspicious call: An Eggleston Road man reported July 11 he received a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. An officer called the number and the party hung up. The officer left a message to have no further contact with the complainant.

Disorderly conduct: A Moreland Hills man was charged July 13 with disorderly conduct / public intoxication, criminal mischief and resisting arrest after he broke two glasses and damaged a trash receptible at a North Aurora Road location. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Criminal mischief: Two Aurora men were charged July 13 with criminal mischief after driving down Chadwick Drive and smashing several mailboxes with a baseball bat. One was additionally charged with driving under the influence and having an open container, and the other was charged with underage drinking. Both were released on bond.

Suspicious vehicles: Police sent a driver on his way July 13 at 1:20 a.m. after a

report of someone in a parked vehicle on Barrington Boulevard. Police confronted a driver who pulled off Treat Road on July 14. and discovered he was looking at a map.

TRAFFIC-RELATED CASES

Rear-end crash: A Grafton man was cited for assured clear distance July 15 after police said he struck an Aurora man's vehicle from behind at Routes 82 and 43. No injuries resulted.

Erratic driving: Incidents of erratic driving were reported July 12 on North Chillicothe Road and July 14 at West Garfield and Cochran roads. Officers could not locate the suspects.
