Missing wallet: A person reported May 26 this wallet was missing while at a Squires Road location. While providing information to the police, the wallet was found.

Fraud: A Crystal Lane resident reported May 22 he sold an item online and the payment was fraudulent. Value of the loss was about $3,120.

Arrested on warrants: A Brooklyn man was transferred May 22 from Cleveland police to Aurora on a driving under suspension warrant. An Aurora man was arrested May 23 on a felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance. A Bellevue man was transferred May 24 from Garfield Heights police to Aurora for failure to appear in court, and an Aurora man was arrested May 25 on a theft warrant. All four men were taken to the Portage County Jail.

Trespassing: Unauthorized fishing in Aurora Lake was reported May 26. An officer warned the suspects and told them to leave. Another report of an unauthorized fisherman was checked out May 22, and an officer found he was allowed to be at the site.

Verbal dispute: Police said a verbal argument involving plants took place May 28 at an Aurora Commons business. An officer sent both parties on their way.

Wallet found: A North Aurora Road business reported May 23 that a customer left his wallet there. An officer contacted the owner, who picked it up.

Drunk man: A lodging facility on North Aurora Road reported May 24 that an intoxicated man was passed out in the hallway. Officers responded and placed the man in his room. No charges were filed.

Child welfare: A person reported May 27 that youths were playing in a car with the windows up on Royal Oak Drive. An officer found an adult was with the children and the windows were halfway down.

Dog complaints: A Meadowlark Circle woman reported May 26 an unknown dog in her yard. It had been reported missing, and its owner was notified and picked it up. A barking dog was reported May 24 on Eggleston Road. The owner agreed to take it inside.

Suspicious vehicles: An officer checked out a parked vehicle May 23 at Tinkers Creek and discovered the driver had fallen asleep. He was sent on his way. An officer also checked out a disabled vehicle May 23 on East Mennonite Road, which was later towed away.

TRAFFIC-RELATED CASES

DUI citations: A Cleveland woman was cited for driving under the influence May 24 after a traffic stop on South Chillicothe Road. A Cleveland man was cited for the same offense May 25 after a traffic stop on West Garfield Road. Both drivers were taken to the Portage County Jail.

Improper backing: An Aurora male juvenile was cited for improper backing May 28 after police said he backed out of a Greenbriar Drive driveway and struck a vehicle parked on the street.

No bicycle lights: A bicyclist was stopped May 28 on North Aurora Road at 1 a.m. and warned about riding on the street without lights.

Illegal skateboarding: An officer stopped a man skateboarding on North Aurora Road, and warned him to cease.
