Metal theft: A North Aurora Road resident reported Jan. 17 that scrap metal valued at $70 was taken from his yard by persons unknown.

Warrant arrests: A Cleveland man was picked up Jan. 21 on a failure to appear in court warrant through Aurora police, and was taken to the Portage County Jail. A Warren man was arrested Jan. 19 on a failure to appear warrant through Aurora police, and was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Loose horses: A North Chillicothe Road resident reported Jan. 16 her neighbors' horses were loose. Officers tethered the horses in a pasture until the owner arrived home.

Disorderly conduct: After several warnings, a Georgia man was charged with disorderly conduct Jan. 18 at Barrington Town Square. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Bat in bedroom: The animal control contractor was summoned Jan. 19 to remove a bat from a North Park Drive resident's bedroom.

Bitten by dog: A woman on East Mennonite Drive reported Jan. 19 she was nipped twice by an unknown dog. Officers were unable to locate the owner.

Suspicious event: A Duneden Drive woman reported Jan. 17 she was home alone and heard noises outside the home. Officers checked the outside and inside of the home and found nothing unusual.

TRAFFIC-RELATED CASES

Rear-end crash: A Rochester, N.Y. man was cited Jan. 15 for assured clear distance after police said he struck an Aurora man's vehicle from behind on South Chillicothe Road. Minor damage, but no injuries resulted.

Left of center: A Mantua man was cited for driving left of center Jan. 18 after police said he ran an Aurora male juvenile off East Garfield Road. No injuries resulted.

Failure to stop: An Aurora male juvenile was cited for ignoring a stop sign Jan. 21 after police said he was southbound on Eggleston and did not stop at the sign, striking the side of a Garrettsville woman's car who was westbound on East Garfield Road. No injuries resulted.

Car strikes tree: No citation was issued and no injuries resulted Jan. 21 after police said an Aurora male juvenile was westbound on Barrington Boulevard, slid on ice, crossed Route 43 and hit a tree in the woods on the other side.

Failure to control: An Aurora female juvenile was cited Jan. 21 for failure to control after police said she struck a Chagrin Falls man's vehicle from behind on Barrington Boulevard. No injuries resulted.

Private property crash: Police said an Aurora man backed out of a driveway on Sycamore Lane on Jan. 22 and struck a passing Aurora man's vehicle. No injuries resulted.
