Theft of pallets: A business on Lena Drive reported Jan. 13 that pallets were taken off the property. No value was given.
Warrant arrests: A Ravenna man was transferred by Brimfield police to Aurora police Jan. 11 on a failure to appear in court warrant. Kent police picked up a Lakewood man Jan. 12 on a failure to appear court warrant and transferred him to Aurora police. A Cleveland man was picked up by Willoughby Hills police Jan. 12 on a failure to appear in court warrant and was transferred to Aurora police custody. In all the warrant cases, the defendant’s were taken to the Portage County Jail.
Theft: A business on Campus Drive reported Jan. 15 that a pneumatic screw gun valued at $1,000 was missing.
Loose dogs: A Moneta Avenue resident reported Jan. 13 that two large dogs were running loose in the neighborhood. Officers could not catch them and turned the situation over to the animal control contractor.
Door open: A Yorkshire Drive resident reported Jan. 12 that a neighbor’s back door was open for a long period of time and nobody was around. An officer contacted the homeowner and determined the wind had blown it open.
Injured owl: The animal control contractor was summoned Jan. 11 to handle a report of an injured owl at West Pioneer and Birchbark trails.
Suspicious vehicles: Someone reported Jan. 10 that a person was driving around in the neighborhood of Deepwoods Drive and Winchell Road for a long period of time. An officer discovered the driver was lost. On Jan. 9, a suspicious vehicle was report at a business after hours. An officer discovered it was a carrier making a pickup. A utility truck was reported Jan. 10 setting along the road facing the wrong direction at East Pioneer Trail and Willard Road. An officer advised the crew to move the truck.
Deer struck: A service department crew removed a dead deer from North Aurora Road on Jan. 8.

TRAFFIC-RELATED CASES
Stop sign violation: An Aurora man was cited for ignoring a stop sign Jan. 8 after he pulled out from Orchard Avenue onto Michigan Street and struck a passing Reminderville man’s vehicle. No injuries resulted.
Rear-end crash: A Streetsboro man was cited for assured clear distance Jan. 12 after he struck a Kent man’s vehicle from behind at Route 43 and Aurora-Hudson Road. No injuries resulted.
Failure to yield: A Garrettsville man was cited for failing to yield and failing to reinstate his driver’s license Jan. 14 after he attempted to turn off Page Road and struck an approaching Streetsboro man’s vehicle. No injuries resulted.
Lot collision: An Aurora man backed out of private lot parking space on North Aurora Road and struck the bumper of a vehicle that drove away. No injuries resulted.
