Aurora Police Reports


Breaking/entering: A North Park Drive woman reported Nov. 23 that when she returned home at about 7:25 p.m., a back door appeared to have been forced open and her bedroom was ransacked. The only thing confirmed missing was $100 in cash.

Equipment taken: A Ravine Drive man reported Nov. 21 that planting equipment valued at $400 was taken from his yard.

Warrant arrest: An Aurora man was picked up Nov. 25 on Eldridge Road on five failure to appear in court warrants. He was taken to the Portage County Jail.

Flat tire: Someone reported Nov. 27 at 3:15 a.m. seeing what looked like a person passed out in a vehicle parked along West Garfield Road. An officer discovered the man was waiting for someone to come to fix a flat tire.

Distress call: A woman reported Nov. 23 at 6:45 p.m. that while leaving work on East Garfield Road an occupied vehicle was in the parking lot with its lights on and she was concerned for her safety. An officer discovered it was a car that had broken down and the driver was waiting for help.

Dog at large: A caller reported Nov. 24 at 3 p.m. that a dog was loose on Chelmsford Drive. An officer could not locate the animal.

Suspicious vehicle: A person reported Nov. 22 at 9:40 p.m. that there was an unfamiliar vehicle parked along Page Road. An officer located the owner and told her to move the vehicle.

Noise complaint: An East Garfield Road resident reported Nov. 22 at 12:15 a.m. that there was loud music playing nearby. The culprit was notified about the complaint and agreed to turn down the music.

Stray cat: A Moneta Avenue woman reported Nov. 20 at 6:20 p.m. that a stray cat has been hanging around her house. The city's animal control contractor was notified.


Cement block hit: An accident was reported Nov. 23 at 5:30 p.m. on private property on South Chillicothe Road. Police said weather conditions caused a Cincinnati woman to hit a cement block. No injuries resulted.

Rear-end crash: A Middlefield woman was cited for assured clear distance Nov. 20 at 7:05 p.m. after police said she struck a Chesterland man's vehicle from behind on Shawnee Trail. The man was treated by paramedics at the scene.
