Shoplifting: A Cleveland woman was charged with receiving stolen property and possessing criminal tools March 10 after a report that items worth $605 were taken from a South Chillicothe Road business. She was taken to the Portage County Jail. A Warrensville Heights woman was given a summons for receiving stolen property.
Harassment: A Jackson Road woman reported March 9 receiving harassing text messages from an unknown party. An officer attempted to contact the source without success.
Mischief: An Idlewood Lane resident reported March 8 that six male juveniles were seen ringing door bells and running away from houses. An officer could not locate the culprits.
Dog complaints: Incidents were called in March 8 by Chatham Drive and East Mennonite Road residents about a dog constantly barking in the early morning hours and a dog on the loose, respectively. Officers were unable to locate the animals.
Skateboard complaint: A complaint was lodged March 9 about a group of juveniles skateboarding in a business parking lot. An officer found the youths' car was disabled and they were waiting for repairs to be made. They agreed not to skateboard in the lot.
Barking dog: An East Boulevard resident reported March 9 that a dog was constantly barking. An officer contacted the owner, who brought the animal inside.
Building entered: Someone reported March 9 that a city-owned building on Trails End was forcibly entered. The service department was contacted and the building was secured.
Speeding vehicle: An Eldridge Road resident reported March 10 that a vehicle was speeding on the street. Officers could not locate it.
Door open: Someone reported March 11 that a door was open at an East Garfield Road business after hours. Nobody from the business could be contacted, so an officer secured the building.
Cars entered: Three Robinhood Drive residents reported March 13 that their cars had been entered. Police said two of the vehicles were unlocked and the owner was unsure if the third vehicle was locked. Nothing was reportedly taken from any of the cars, but the center console of one was damaged.
