Warrant arrests: A Middlefield man was picked up Feb. 28 by local police on a failure to appear in court warrant, and was taken to the Portage County Jail. A Warrensville Heights man was served with a probable cause warrant through Aurora police March 6 for a theft that occurred in December 2012. He was served at the Portage County Jail and remained there.

Suspicious person: A caller reported March 3 a suspicious man walking in the area of Page and Bartlett roads. He was gone when an officer arrived.

Barking dog: A Chatham Drive resident reported March 4 a barking dog is a habitual problem in the neighborhood. All was quiet upon an officer's arrival.

Blowing tarp: An Aurora Lake Road resident reported March 6 spotting a "tent" along a tree line in the neighborhood. An officer discovered it was a piece of tarp that blew into the trees.

Trunk lid secured: A caller reported March 1 a vehicle was in a Sycamore Lane parking lot with its trunk open. An officer secured the lid.

Suspicious vehicles: A Doe Trail resident reported March 6 that a vehicle was at a neighbor's home and the residents were out of town. An officer discovered it was the daughter of the residents. An Idlewood Lane resident reported March 2 that juveniles were jumping up and down and running around two cars on the street. Officers were unable to locate the culprits. Also that day, a officer found that a suspicious vehicle report on North Aurora Road turned out to be a man whose car broke down and he was waiting for a tow. On March 1, a suspicious vehicle was reported on West Parkway Boulevard, but an officer could not locate the driver.

TRAFFIC-RELATED CASES

Bus hits cars: Police said a private property accident occurred March 6 in a lot on South Chillicothe Road in which a chartered bus struck three cars. No injuries resulted.

DUI citation: A Burton woman was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated March 3 after a traffic stop on North Aurora Road and after she failed field sobriety tests. She was released on a personal bond.

Two-car collision: No citations were issued and no injuries occurred March 3 when cars driven by a Streetsboro man and Aurora man were exiting a parking lot onto West Garfield Road and collided.

Hit-skip: An Akron man reported March 2 that his parked car in a lot on South Chillicothe Road was struck by a unknown person who left the scene. No injuries resulted.

Backup crash: No citations were issued and no injuries resulted Feb. 27 when a Pittsburgh man tried to turn into a driveway from Lena Drive, then backed up and struck a Ravenna woman's car.

Rear-end crash: An Aurora man was cited for assured clear distance March 1 after police said he struck a Windham woman's vehicle from behind on West Garfield Road. The woman's car was pushed into a stopped car in front of her, but that vehicle drove off at a high rate of speed and did not return.
