Domestic violence: An Aurora man was charged with domestic violence Feb. 8 after police said he physically assaulted his wife at a Chatham Estates residence. The victim declined medical transport by city paramedics, and the man was taken to the Portage County Jail.
Theft: A South Chillicothe business reported Feb. 8 that an iPad valued at $450 to $600 was taken.
Warrant arrest: A North Ridgeville man was picked up Feb. 7 by Aurora police in Lakewood after being detained on an unspecified warrant. He posted bond and was released from custody.
Criminal damaging: An East Mennonite Road resident reported Feb. 11 that a gate was damaged on the property. No value was given.
Theft: A Woodview Trail man reported Feb. 11 that someone withdrew $6.20 from his bank account without his knowledge.
Loose sign: A passerby reported Feb. 11 that a business sign on East Garfield Road was hanging by a wire. Police contacted the building owner.
Warrant arrest: An Aurora man was picked up Feb. 13 on Sycamore Lane on a warrant for forgery. He was taken to the Portage County Jail. The amount of the forged check was unspecified.
Theft: A Cleveland woman was charged Feb. 13 with theft and possessing criminal tools for alleged theft of items from a business on South Chillicothe Road. She was taken to the Portage County Jail. Value of the items was $458.
Suspicious persons: A person reported Feb. 13 that a person wearing a ski mask was walking along West Garfield Road. An officer confronted the walker and found he was going home. Other "suspicious persons" were reported Feb. 12 and 13 on Lena Drive and North Aurora Road. Officers checked out the reports and found the people were a security guard and a tradesman working in the area, respectively. An East Pioneer Trail resident also reported Feb. 8 spotting "suspicious" footprints around his house.
Lot collision: A collision occurred Feb. 6 in a parking lot on Pioneer Trail when an Aurora driver was stopped and was backed into by a Mantua driver. No injuries resulted.
