Missing merchandise: Four Cleveland women were charged with receiving stolen property Jan. 27 after items valued at $2,556 were taken from a South Chillicothe Road business. Two also were charged with resisting arrest and the other two with possessing criminal tools. They were taken to the Portage County Jail.

Counterfeit bills: A North Chillicothe Road business reported Jan. 25 receiving a counterfeit $100 bill, while a West Garfield Road business reported Jan. 28 receiving a counterfeit $20 bill.

Domestic dispute: Officers responded to a reported domestic dispute Jan. 23 between a husband and wife in the Geauga Lake area. The couple agreed to stay away from each other for the remainder of the night.

Suspicious walker: After getting a call about a "suspicious" person walking along Deepwoods Drive on Jan. 27, an officer discovered the person was staying at a nearby home and walking to a neighborhood location to get a ride to church.

Mailbox destroyed: A Cascades Drive resident reported Jan. 27 his mailbox was blown up with a pipe bomb. No value was given.

Injured deer: After a call about an injured deer on Eggleston Road on Jan. 29, an officer could not locate the animal.

Pair charged: A Solon woman was charged with receiving stolen property Jan. 27 at a South Chillicothe Road store. A Cleveland man was charged with possessing criminal tools. They were taken to the Portage County Jail. Value of the merchandise taken was $296.

Theft charge: A Barberton woman was charged with theft Jan. 27 in connection with items valued at $350 taken from a South Chillicothe Road business.

Loose dog: A Robinhood Dive resident reported Jan. 29 a dog at large. The owner retrieved it.

Barking dog: An East Boulevard resident reported Jan. 29 an ongoing problem with a constantly barking dog. The owner was warned.

Suspicious person: A resident in the Joseph Drive-Walnut Ridge Trail area reported Jan. 28 a person walking down the street carrying a trash bag. Officers could not locate him.

Animal complaint: A South Chillicothe Road resident reported a sick or injured muskrat which he though might be rabid. Animal control was called and captured the animal.

TRAFFIC-RELATED CASES

Rear-end crash: A Hiram woman was cited for assured clear distance Jan. 23 after police said she struck an Orwell man's vehicle from behind at South Chillicothe Road and Aurora Industrial Park Drive.

Rear-end crash: A rear-end collision occurred Jan. 24 at North Aurora Road and Sycamore Drive when an Aurora woman slid on ice into another Aurora woman's vehicle. No injuries resulted and no ciation was issued.

Intersection crash: An Aurora man was cited Jan. 24 for not maintaining reasonable control after police said he slide through a stop sign on Walden Drive at South Bissell Road and struck a Solon woman's vehicle. No injuries resulted.

Rear-end crash: No injuries resulted Jan. 24 when an Aurora woman struck a Chagrin Falls female juvenile's car from behind on South Chillicothe Road. The drivers exchanged information and the Aurora woman drove away, according to police. No citation was issued.
